As reported by EGR and several other sources, we’re incredibly excited to welcome Chris Fargis to Boom Sports.

Prior to Boom, Chris spent seven years at DraftKings in leadership roles across Product and Operations. His impressive resume also includes four years as a professional poker player, plus four years as an options trader and hedge fund manager on Wall Street. Chris is also a successful entrepreneur, having built a daily fantasy sports platform and sold it to NBC Sports in 2009.

“We've been recruiting elite industry talent throughout 2021, and we're very pleased to bring Chris onto the team. His experience speaks for itself and we're excited to see what he builds at Boom. He's got the skills and resources to truly innovative sports betting,” said Steve Murphy, Boom Sports CEO.

Chris has been recruited as the General Manager of Sports Betting Products division and is hiring talent at the moment.

You might have seen Chris share his excitement on Twitter:

With Chris on board, we wanted to find out why he chose Boom and what opportunities he sees in the sports betting industry.

What was compelling about Boom?

It's a small company that is growing fast, is well-capitalized, and has leaders with tremendous experience and vision. We have an impressive client roster, with more big names to be announced soon. It's an opportunity to create new products in a space where there isn't a lot of innovation going on.

What innovation opportunities are you spotting so far?

Digital sports betting is one of the hottest industries in the world right now. Enormous capital and resources are going into the space. But mostly I see those resources going towards brands launching in new states and companies building games and features that other operators already have. There is hardly any true innovation happening in sports betting right now. That's the opportunity that we will grab hold of, as we build out brand new concepts that have not been seen before.

What sort of traits or experiences are you hoping to find in the team you're building?

I'm looking for curious problem-solvers who want to collaborate. I need creative partners who want to work as a team to take some of the ideas we have in our heads and start to give them life.

If you want to work with Chris and help evolve the sports betting industry, check out our job board at Angel List.
